Well its taken a while to put together, but I am finally reaching the point at which its really useable and sweet to work with. I would love to hear peoples thoughts on this - are you already using the DW controls? If so, what are your thoughts on this new style of working? Is it too limited by way of being too techie?

Its important to note that this framework is 100% cross platform any only requires Ruby, and the RubyGems package management; this screen-cast however was created on OSX Leopard.

Wow, you had me at "hello"! Great tool, but not for the faint hearted...

The DW controls in uCreate TNG (in it's current form) is really only good for developing non-acquisition direct marketing campaigns as they operate within tight boundaries (ASP.NET only, UPDATE existing records, not INSERT new ones).

Your framework really lets you take advantage of ICP outside of a direct marketing context and start to leverage the functionality of XMPie's architecture. Well done.

    Thanks for the feedback Eliot.

I'll continue to extend this and add new ideas and better, quicker ways of building and working with ICP - AR style validation and some bespoke exception handling are on the cards for sure.

I agree with you; this is not for the fair hearted - its aimed at developers. If I can wean just one developer away from the C#/uCreate combo, then this has been a total success.

From my perspective you'll always have that trade off between usability in a tool, and the ultimate level of performance said tool can provide. It might not be as simple to implement as uCreate based apps, but it will, without a shadow of a doubt, be light-years quicker for the end user - in my mind thats got to be a top priority :)
